FAQ for Members (英語のみ)
What qualifications do EEA members typically have?
Equity Editors Association members hold graduate degrees including, but not limited to, MD, PhD, MPH, RN, and/or MSc, and have publication experience in their respective fields. They are committed to high-quality publication and communication of scientific ideas and technologies.
Once I am a member of EEA, can I edit for any of EEA's partner companies?
Each company has its own screening process that you will need to complete to be hired as an editor. Some companies may have a trial period before you are accepted as a full editor. EEA membership alone does not provide editing opportunities.
Is there someone available to answer questions or give advice on editing orders?
Depending on the company you are editing for, there may be a training system to help you familiarize yourself with the editing guidelines and standards for the company. In general, you will be expected to perform the edits without consultation with another editor. Each company will have a mechanism for quality assurance and will provide feedback if necessary.
How does EEA membership impact an editor's ability to earn income?
Each editor sets their donation from anywhere between 1-100% of their compensation. As such, EEA membership only minimally affects an editor's income unless the editor chooses to donate a larger percentage of their compensation.
What are the benefits of EEA membership?
The benefits of EEA membership include:
1) membership in a professional association of other top-notch, socially conscious editors
2) ability to earn an income while contributing to global health efforts
3) flexible hours with work and service that can be done from home or anywhere else
Can I donate to more than one beneficiary?
No, you must select a single beneficiary from among our pool. This is done so as to maximize your impact and simplify accounting.
Once I choose a percentage to donate, how often can it be changed?
You can change this at any time by contacting the for-profit partner.
How do I know where EEA revenue goes?
The beneficiaries that EEA support are required to be transparent, open-source organizations that provide online accounting of their project activities and budgets. For more details, see the beneficiary page.
FAQ for Partners (英語のみ)
Why Partner with EquityEditors' Association?
EquityEditors' Association is a name that clients can trust as an effective mechanism for generating revenue for global health innovations. Partnering with EEA is free and comes with no requirements beyond a simple payroll deduction for participating EEA editors.
What are the commitments on the part of the partner?
The mechanism is similar to payroll deductions for donations. The partner can either cut a separate check or set up a direct account transfer for the editors so that the portion provided as a donation goes directly to EEA. Each month the partner is also asked to log into their EEA account and enter in the amounts donated by each EEA editor affiliated with their firm. These arethe only requirement for the partnering company; there is absolutely no cost to the partnering company. There is also no requirement on the part of the editing company to retain poor-performing EEA editors; such editors should be fired as with any freelancer.
What are the commitments on the part of EEA?
EEA will continue to recruit top-notch, socially conscious editors and create a brand that clients trust for quality and service. EEA is committed to providing donations only to those beneficiaries who are making a clear, transparent, and effective impact on global health. EEA will continue to publicize our work in the scientific community and in mass media so as to spread our mission and to enhance the reputations of our partnering companies.
How do I know where my social investment is spent?
We require of our beneficiaries that they are open-source, transparent organizations that release to the public their financial and operational details. For more information, see the beneficiaries page.
How does my editing organization become a partner with EEA?
The process of partnering is simple. Any EEA member who is editing for the potential partner will request an automatic percentage deduction from his or her paycheck to EEA. This deduction comes directly out of the EEA editor's paycheck and as such costs nothing to the partner. Once a donation is received on behalf of an EEA editor from the new partner, that partner's name and URL will be placed on the EEA partner page. There is nothing more to the process than that.
Once a partner, can my company publish our partnership with EEA on our webpage and, if so, how?
Yes! Please download the EEA widget here:

Where do the funds go?
The funds raised by EEA are distributed directly as ongoing funding to our beneficiaries[LINK] -- innovative social enterprises that advance global health equity. This revenue is an ongoing, sustainable, and flexible source of funding for such enterprises. EEA chooses beneficiaries that are transparent, pro-poor, and open-source to ensure that the revenue generated improves the health of marginalized populations. Our first beneficiary is Nyaya Health.

1. a written projection of immediate goals and explanation of progress indicators
2. quarterly updates of how our donations were used, addressing the projected immediate goals and data on the associated dollar amounts for each goal
3. annual report of the organization
4. media materials (video, text, photos) of the processes and people involved in the work
5. complete financial documents and budget of the organization
